How Wired is Your Kid?

I thought this infographic does a great job of showing the positive, negative, and pragmatic side of technology use in kids. While we should be concerned with screentime and making sure our kids get outside and use their imaginations, we also have to realize that they are growing up in a world where computer skills will be an absolute necessity. We wouldn't keep our kids from learning how to use a pencil because it's a technological device, so we have to realize that keeping them from learning to type or use the mouse could be an equal setback to their education and social development.

At the same time, we have to work hard to avoid the more negative social ramifications of a constantly connected house filled with gadgets.

Do these numbers surprise you? How do you balance the plugged and unplugged parts of your child's day?
